The San Francisco Doula Group (“SFDG”) is a community of independent professional birth & postpartum Doulas who have come together to support San Francisco Bay Area individuals and families through birth and/or adoption, as well as help build professionalism within the Doula community.  Started by a small group of Doulas nearly 2 decades ago (in 2003), SFDG has grown to approximately 15 birth and postpartum doulas, many of whom also provide a variety of additional perinatal services.

Our vision is to support trained and experienced Doulas via monthly meetings, ongoing professional development, peer review, business opportunities, and social events. Each Doula listed on this site is active in the local birth and postpartum community, participates in continuing education, and adheres to a standard of practice and code of ethics to ensure professionalism and integrity of service.

Doulas in The San Francisco Doula Group have a broad spectrum of experience and training. When interviewing Doulas for birth or postpartum work, we encourage you to ask questions about their specific experience, training, and specialties. We believe this will ensure you have a great experience with your doula.
