VIRTUAL SUPPORT
Whether required by circumstances and/or personal preferences, SFDG doulas can also offer their valuable expert care and guidance via video conference formats prenatally, during labor/birth, &/or during postpartum. In such circumstances, our doulas bring all the same valuable, and evidence-based benefits of our training, experience, and care to our clients in the virtual field which we bring in person.
We are committed to providing personalized care and on-going support to all of our clients, including during challenging times, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. As many people and families do not have any support (or enough helpful, non-judgmental, and/or knowledgeable support) from family and/or nearby community during such a global crisis, you may find it helpful to know that the many benefits of prenatal and postpartum check-ins to support what is arising during and following pregnancy can also be provided virtually.
As Always:
We're dedicated to supporting individual and families through pregnancy, birth adoption, and/or postpartum.
We're dedicated to safety for all.
Our services are as valuable as ever, including during pandemics.
Each of our member doulas determine their individual working conditions, locations, and fees.
In general, we are still present and available for:
Safe contact throughout pregnancy, labor/birth, and/or for postpartum care of the sort determined with doula. Remember that some doulas provide birth AND postpartum services, while others specialize in birth OR postpartum services.
Providing help working through decisions and communication with care providers prenatally, during birth, and/or postpartum.
Providing education, guidance/coaching for partner(s) prenatally, in real-time during the birth, and/or postpartum, i.e., massage, pressure points and other comfort measures and coping techniques, nourishment, initial bodyfeeding guidance etc., as well as emotional and mental support which falls within our scope of practice.
The San Francisco Doula Group looks forward to continuing to serve and collaborate with Bay Area families. We hope each of you and your families have been staying safe and healthy on behalf of yourselves and your community.
